在私家車或輕型貨車的考試合格後，只符合資格申請暫準駕駛執照。法例規定，暫準駕駛執照持有人必須通過12個月的強制暫準駕駛期（P牌）。

暫準駕駛執照須在有關駕駛考試合格日期起計3年內申領，否則，你必須重新報考有關駕駛考試及在獲取合格後，才可再次申領該種類車輛的暫準駕駛執照。

申請需填寫並提交表格TD590，另需繳納＄90的費用。

Only upon passing the driving test, will the probationary driving license be issued to the driver. It is by law that the probationary driving license holder must undergo a 12-months probationary driving period (P-license).

Applicants must apply for the probationary driving license to drive a vehicle within 3 years period from the date of passing the driving test. Otherwise, the applicants must reapply for and pass the relevant driving test again before the applicant can reapply for the probationary driving license for the same vehicle type.

Probationary driving license applicants must complete the application form (form no. TD590.) alongside with a $90 charge.

All probationary driving licence holders are subject to additional driving restrictions and only eligible to apply for full driving licences after satisfactory completion of the probationary driving periods.
